Quack is a headless gnutella server, intended to be run unattended (i.e. in "daemon mode"). Most gnutella servers only allow searching based on matches to the filenames of the files being shared. Quack allows an external index file to be used in addition to matches on the filenames. This allows the user better control over which files will be matched.

Quack is written in python, and should run on any platform supporting python, sockets, and select. It has been tested on linux.

Quack has a project info page hosted at SourceForge. Take a look for bugs, mailing lists, etc.
